About AHI

Alabama Home InspeXions®, LLC was established in 2011 with the mission of educating property buyers in Southeast Alabama.  We pledge to put the interests of our clients first and we always give our clients the option of being on the premises during the inspection. 

AHI uses cutting-edge technology to bring you the most comprehensive inspection results. We are qualified in residential homes as well as investment properties and know what to look for in an investment property. We also know how important a home is. Our goal is to make sure your house can become the home of your dreams.

Darrin Swan, our chief inspector, is a graduate of the United States Army Safety Officer Course, American Home Inspector Training Institute's 300 hour Master Home Inspector Course, has completed the National Home Inspectors Examination and has a wealth of knowledge and experience in all facets of property inspection and construction.  Darrin maintains all State of Alabama Building Commission requirements for home inspectors.  He is also a Certified Inspector of the American Society of Home Inspectors, which maintains strict Standards of Procedures and mandatory continuing education requirements to ensure their inspectors maintain the highest level of professionalism.

ASHI Certified Inspectors:

  • Passed the National Home Inspector Examination and ASHI's Standard of Practice and Code of Ethics module.
  • Had inspection reports successfully verified for compliance with ASHI's Standard of Practice.
  • Have submitted a valid list of performance of at least 250 fee-paid home inspections that meet or exceed the ASHI Standard of Practice.
  • Have returned an authorized notarized affidavit to ASHI validating at least 250 inspections. 
  • Must agree to follow the ASHI Standard of Practice and Code of Ethics.
  • Each year, the inspector is required to complete 20 hours of continuing education.
